AI and Health Data event at Think Corner

The FCAI (Finnish Center for Artificial Intelligence), iCAN, and EUPATI (European Patients’ Academy) Finland joined forces to organize a public event at Think Corner in Helsinki and online on Monday, April 29, 2024, focused on AI and Health Data.

The program included an introduction to health data by Karoliina Snell, and a talk by Tomi Mäkelä, iCAN’s Executive Officer, about the iCAN Discovery Platform and its role in strengthening cancer research through AI and health data. Aleksei Tiulpin presented the Oulu Brain Tumor study and the use of deep learning to automate the analysis of medical images. Jaakko Lähteenmäki discussed the European Health Data Space, while Pekka Marttinen covered Machine Learning for register data. A panel discussion followed, moderated by Karoliina Snell, with participants including Tomi Mäkelä, iCAN’s lawyer Kirsi Talonen, Pekka Marttinen, Antti Honkela, and Jukka K. Korpela.
