First training day of HUS Research Panels
The first training day of the HUS Research Panels took place on Monday, September 21, 2020. Approximately 50 members of the HUS Customer Panels and the iCAN Patient and Citizen Advisory Board attended the training.
The customer panels have been working in HUS for several years to develop a patient-centered care culture and services. The aim of the research panel is to ensure that the experiences and views of patients, relatives, and other individuals interested in research are utilized more in scientific studies in the future.
The training, which has just commenced, aims to provide an introduction to clinical trials, role of the research panel, and common practices. The first day of the training included an introduction to patient involvement in clinical trials by Mirjami Tran Minh, an overview of pre-clinical and translational studies by Juha Klefström, Research Director (CancerIO), and a presentation on the legislation governing clinical trials by Nadja Kullas, contract lawyer (HYKS Institute). The training was opened by Anne Pitkäranta, Research Director at HUS. The second part of the training will take place on October 5, 2020.
iCAN has been involved in the preparation of the training in cooperation with HUS and EUPATI Finland.
